Position Overview

The ICT Teacher supports the effective and innovative use of technology across the school. The role focuses on teaching ICT, developing students’ digital literacy, helping teachers with ICT integration, and ensuring safe and responsible technology use. Working across Early Years and Primary, the ICT Teacher collaborates with the Head of School, Curriculum Leadership Team, and IT Support Engineer.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Curriculum Support

• Teach ICT and digital literacy lessons aligned with MIS’s guiding frameworks (IPC, Singapore Maths, British National Curriculum).
• Support teachers in integrating ICT meaningfully into inquiry-based learning and class projects.
• Contribute to the monitoring and review of the ICT curriculum, incorporating feedback and current best practices.
• Stay informed on global developments in educational technology and suggest appropriate classroom applications.
• Co-teach or support classroom lessons when required, modelling effective ICT integration.
• Support whole-school digital initiatives, including coding, robotics, media literacy, and safe online practices.
• Provide internal professional development on basic ICT pedagogy, tools, and digital learning strategies.
• Support technology-based programmes in upper primary, including device integration and digital portfolios.

Technical Guidance and Classroom Support

• Work with the school’s IT Support Engineer to ensure that ICT systems and devices needed for teaching are functioning effectively.
• Promote cybersecurity awareness and safe online practices among students and staff.
• Provide practical ICT assistance to staff for basic hardware and software issues.
• Support ICT needs for key school events, including sound and AV systems for assemblies, productions, and special events.
• Assist with the maintenance, care, and basic inventory of ICT teaching equipment.

ICT Resources and Administration

• Support the Head of School and the Finance Team by identifying ICT needs for teaching and learning.
• Provide recommendations for ICT purchases, upgrades, and classroom innovations.
• Liaise with external vendors and service providers when requested.
• Support alignment with Middleton and EtonHouse HQ ICT guidance and system standards.

Professional Conduct and Collaboration

• Contribute to the school’s ICT action plan through high-quality classroom practice.
• Support the implementation of ICT policies, digital citizenship expectations, and essential agreements.
• Model responsible technology use, including digital copyright and media literacy.
• Engage in professional networks related to ICT education, where appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Computer Science, Educational Technology, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of ICT teaching and integration in Early Years and Primary education.
• Experience teaching ICT in an international school is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to support and guide teachers in ICT use.
• Strong classroom practice combined with solid technical and pedagogical understanding.
• Organised, proactive, collaborative, and solution-focused.
